Not too much is better in life than the perfect ice cream blend and the perfect boundary of the sea. At least that’s true for me.
“It’s a Goody” is a vanilla based ice cream with chunks of peanut butter and chocolate bits and it’s my favorite blend. It’s my favorite and I can only find it at my favorite beach destination for a day trip—Ocean Grove, NJ.
This year when I picked up my season beach badge, I also scooped up my favorite ice cream cone – It’s a Goody. It was the perfect beach day!
People often ask me why I like the beach so much and many answers exist to that question. However, my favorite reason is because the beach displays the mighty power of God! He not only created the oceans of the world and their sandy beaches, but He also set the boundaries of the oceans.
Jeremiah 5: 22 – Do you not fear me? declares the Lord.
Do you not tremble before me?
I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea,
a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;
though the waves toss, they cannot prevail;
though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
Jeremiah 38: 8-11 –“Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?
Proverbs 8: 29 – when he assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
Psalm 104: 9 – You set a boundary that they may not pass,
so that they might not again cover the earth.
On the eighth day, God created ice cream at the boundary set beach and declared: It’s a Goody!
