“The Eve of Christmas”

Christmas Eve has long been my favorite day of the year! The anticipation of Christmas day, memories of my brothers and parents attending a church service at midnight, and then returning home to gather around our fireplace while each of us opened one gift, ate some cookies, and drank hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course). Those Christmas Eves are now serene memories of more peaceful times!
