In these days of great threats, we also have tremendous opportunities:

• We have the opportunity to trust in the Sovereignty of God.
• We have the opportunity to rest in the trustworthiness of Jesus Christ as the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer of this world.
• We have the opportunity to hope the global pandemic will pass and that the impact on lives and economies, while grave in the moment, will be limited.
• We have the opportunity to remind ourselves and others that our hope is rooted in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Me? A Reluctant Reader???

About a year ago, I reluctantly began reading the Bible in “chunks”. My former pastor in MS started assigning portions of Scripture to the congregation. Each week a few chapters would be listed or announced with the goal of reading the same book or section of the Bible every day that week. The ultimate goal of course was to see something “new” in the passage through the repeated readings.
