The closest I have ever come to hunting for buried treasure, was a few years ago while visiting Israel. One day our tour group went to an archaeological dig and sifted through soil to recover small artifacts from early Biblical history. It was exciting to imagine unearthing a buried treasure that might have been a valuable metal or something that revealed greater insight into Jesus’ earthly ministry.
